So after a fairly long and boring journey to the city we finally arrived at around mid day; we got a taxi straight to our hostel, not wanting to faff around with trying to navigate the local bus system!  Our time here was pretty brief and very relaxed; we spent an afternoon exploring Miraflores (very pretty and kind of up market) and also near enough a whole day looking around the centre of Lima... checking out the main plazas, a couple of churches and also, rather randomly, a stamp musuem!  Our tour didnīt last particularly long in this place... and I guess the clue given by the visitors book should have said enough - we were the only ones to have signed in!  We checked out the evening water / light display which was pretty cool - we got to fool around like kids, running in between the various projections of waters trying not to get caught!

Other activities to note:-
*We went for a really nice last meal and gorgeous cocktail in Mira flores - we ate and drank heaps!
*We of course went to the cinema - we`d establish a rule that within each country we visited we needed to go to the cinema at least once.  We watched Clash of the Titans and I have to admit it was a bit of a let down... plus no free popcorn!!
*A very cool art musuem which of course I cant remember the name of but it had a fantastic display of photographs
*Copious amounts of laundry - it was highly embarrassing handing over the incredibly smelly bag of jungle ruined clothes!!

Our last day here was supposed to be relatively relaxed however typically we had to have one final glitch in terms of travel plans... thankfully it was Krisīs and not mine.  She completely got wrong the day she was flying - it was actually nearly 24hrs earlier than she expected... so things were a little rushed in terms of sorting out our gear, exchanging and copying photos and saying farewell - which ended up being in the street, just before Kris hopped in to a cab for her flight.

I have to admit I was left feeling a little lost and gutted that she was gone... I will definitely miss my little Romsenita x
