Hello All,
On Tuesday we had a theology excursion, which was to a bunch of churches that- I feel terrible saying- but I have absolutely zero idea of their names because Ive probably seen 50 so far and they all just blend after a while.  But I poster some pictures to be enjoyed!

On Wednesday, we went on an Art History excursion to see the Campodoglio Square by Micheangelo, which is the subject of my midterm presentation.  We even got to see the Roman Forum from a distance and the view was beautiful.

Last Friday we went to the archeological site of Ostia Antica.  Ostia Antica was once Rome's main port city, a former "colony" of Rome.  It was also where St. Augustine lived with his mother Monica during his revelation and conversion to Christianity.  That is the reason we visited, because we are studying St. Augustine in Philosophy.  When we visited we saw the ancient ruins of a city that was once there.   Before you enter what was the actual city, there was the ancient cemetery just outside the city walls, which was tradition back then.  There were true cobblestones on the grounds and what is left of the brick foundations of the former city walls and homes. At Ostia Antica, the mosaic flooring of the community baths were even pristinely preserved. Unfortunately it was pouring rain so we didn't stay as long as we had intended but it was still gorgeous.

Sunday was a fabulous because I found a caffe that sells soy cappuccinos and it was just simply the best discovery ever.

Sadly we have midterms this week so we did not do much except study during the week, and did not get to explore much of the city, but this weekend we go to  Puglia and it is supposedly beautiful!
