Hello All!

This week was not as eventful as the past weeks but had some fun points!
Tuesday for my class called Catholicism today, we had class near the Colosseum, we met at the Arch of Constantine and then toured four churches in the area.  Inside one church was the largest Tabernacle we have ever seen.  Another was the prettiest church I've ever been in.  It had 40 chandeliers!

Friday was the day we were looking forward to, a tour of the Vatican Museum.  We saw in depth a few of the thousands of paintings and sculptures relevant to our Renaissance Architecture class and then got to see the main attraction, The Sistine Chapel.  It is one of the most magnificent churches in Rome, with its ceiling frescoed by Michelangelo and the wall behind the alter being Michelangelo's Last Judgement.  We see pictures of these masterpieces in class but there is nothing like actually seeing it alive and in person.  Unfortunately there is a strict no pictures of the Sistine Chapel policy (there are guards walking around and yelling at you when you try) so I don't have any pictures of The Sistine Chapel.  Unfortunately the Pope was doing a mass in St. Peter's Basilica so we were not allowed inside so sometime in the coming weeks we will be returning to see Michelangelo's Il Pieta.

Saturday we all decided to go on a three hour walk/photoshoot through the park and into the city.  The park her is gorgeously green, completely unexpected in the dirty streets of the suburbs of Rome, which is why we love to go.  The pictures truly do not do it justice.

That's all for this past week I'll blog again soon!
