Hello everyone,
This past week I toured quite a few places.  Friday morning we Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill.  I have been to these three ruins before, but this time we were allowed to tour the caves and ruins of the cells where the slaves, gladiators, and animals were kept before their fight to the death (sometimes).  We even got to stand on the stage where these gladiators would fight each other back then.  The Colosseum is a beautiful building, even after all these years of damage.  We learned that they are currently working on restoring the original white color of the stone of the Colosseum and it will take two years to finish.  We then wandered around the Forum and saw what once was Ancient Rome.

On Saturday Nico, Maggie, and I decided to find the Trevi Fountain ourselves, with no maps, and were successful.  We of course threw coins into the fountain with hopes of returning again, and made a few wishes.  This all obviously led to shopping for postcards and we all got Roma T-shirts for the soccer game we are going to!

Sunday morning we went to the Pope's Angelus, which is when he blesses the things you bring.  Seeing Pope Francis in front of the carpet and hearing his voice was the craziest thing to experience... not to mention that he blessed some of my things and gifts!

Sunday was the day of bookings.  I have officially booked trips to Venice, Barcelona, Spain, and a Roma soccer match for the remainder of our semester (I then created a budget for the rest of my money to be safe!).  And that night we obviously watched the Lizzie McGuire Movie because how don't you watch it in Rome?!
