Well, after 51 days, many destinations, fantastic experiences and two people most certainly richer for the travels, we are home again.
Since being home the two questions we are asked the most are "Where was your favourite place?" and "Would we go back again?".
To answer the second question first, YES! I would probably qualify it with we have learnt so much we would do some things differently for the next trip but, for the first trip, I think we got it pretty well just right.
The world is so full of places we have not yet been so it will probably be a while before we do too much more Chinese travelling except for this - we have a FREE trip to Hong Kong in June as a bonus from this trip! We plan to go somewhere near Hong Kong just for a few days :-)
Our current "list" includes South America, Japan, Russia, Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar, Artic or Antarctic, Greenland, I could just keep going...
How to choose one favourite place after so many wonderful experiences? Impossible! The Gobi Desert, The Great Wall, Xian, Yangtze River, Shennong Stream, Tibet, Rice Terraces, this is another endless list!
I think our choice of going back somewhere would be Mongolia, this time to go north to see the lakes and forests we heard other travellers talk about so enthusiastically. Sleeping in a Mongolian Yurt is something we will happily repeat.
We have always known how much we love to travel, this trip confirmed it beyond any doubt!
