It is really quite amazing that, after 51 days of travelling around China, Mongolia and Tibet, we would happily keep going.
On one or two occasions we have each felt that maybe it is time to go home but that passed very quickly as we were having such a good time.
Perhaps it is because we managed to experience so much local life, talk to people, eat the real local food and basically immerse ourselves in a completely different and sometimes very foreign culture. We accepted the differences and tried to do what the locals do rather than trying to have the locals change to accommodate us.
We spent the day wandering along the waterfront, drinking coffee and watching wedding mania. Apparently a registry office opened up in the centre behind the coffee shop we were sitting outside so we saw many processions of brides, grooms, proud parents, brothers / cousins taking photos (some were very nerdy :-) and crowds of guests coming along to witness the nuptials, how bizarre.
Later we wandered back to the hotel and sat at the pool deck waiting for our driver to fetch us and take us to the airport for a very long flight home.
What an AMAZING adventure this has been!
