We repeated our relaxed start and breakfast of yesterday before checking out of our last hard bed hotel and leaving our luggage with the porter for the rest of the morning.
Then it was off to Dr Lily Li's Massage Parlour for a session of reflexology and leg massage. Some of it tickled some of it hurt, some was a bit strange but the end result was relaxed feet and a great way to end the stay in Yangshuo (and avoiding the Western mayhem).
Annie had seen a local noodle dish on the menu of another side-street restaurant so we had a lunch of spicy veggie noodles and headed back to our hotel to meet Rosa and our driver.
The trip to the airport had us on roads that varied from single track dirt roads to four lane highways
In fact, as Hong Kong is still considered an international flight, check in only opens two and a half hours before each flight. We met and spent some time chatting to a fascinating Canadian couple who live in Costa Rica. Meeting them gave me a new hero to add to my list, Daniel has travelled to EVERY country in the world!!! This trip was from Canada to China in a Rolls Royce and Mongolia was where he reached this heroic traveller status. We love to travel and visit new places but to have visited every country in the world is a very large dream. Who knows, perhaps one day...
As the check-in was about to open with a smart procession of immigration and airline officials Annie warned me that the lady leading the approaching Travelsphere tour group was about to run me over with her trolley. This lady did her best to annoy everyone, tell everyone what they should do and to tell the airline staff and immigration and customs people how things should be done for her and her group. Sadly for her and to everyone's amusement all she got was told off; by Annie for pushing in, by the check-in staff for trying to make up the rules and by being completely ignored by the immigration officials. She is a really bad advertisement for Travelsphere and travelling in groups, we will definitely carry on travelling our way :-)
