Left London around 9.40am and got up on to the A40 closeby to start our journey north. Had quite good weather up to the midlands so stopped off at 12.30pm to have lunch with cousin Marg in Solihull. Great to see her again but only stayed for an hour or so and promised to return on 30th. Came through plenty of fairly heavy rain as we proceeded northwards and had to slow down to around 30mph or less to get sufficient visibility on the M42 and the M6 and finally on to the M62 towards Liverpool arriving at Jan and Brian's place at 4.15pm - about an hour later than predicted, but pretty good considering the atrocious June weather! (flooding further north apparently)
Great to see Jan and Brian again, plenty of chin wagging needless to say. Then Mark and Debbie arrived and we had plenty of laughs with them. Promised to go to their house tomorrow for lunch in Southport.
