A crazy day! We obviously thought, or I did,  that we had caught up on jet lag. No way. Tony and I awoke around noon our time, 6 a.m. your time. We are very early risers at home, no later than 7:00 a.m....if that. Last night, I changed everything, I had a night of nightmares!

I also have an imagination?  I am the one who reads all of the rules, all of the instructions etc. before travelling...I pay attention to rules when we get there. Every door is locked, the car is locked and my passports protected. Arriving here and being told and now knowing we are the only people around in the area for as far as the eye could see, made me say "really"? The neighbouring house sits empty.  I guess I went to bed wondering....did I lock the kitchen door? I was obviously too tired to get up and check. Boy did I dream, I was so upset last night, in my dreams, screaming that Tony take my gun, (I would never have one, but last night I thought I was Annie Oakley) I called on Tony because I did not want to pull the trigger; I saw a burglar, I saw someone who was stealing our passport, I saw someone who was taking our food (there was none). Tony woke up. He N.eV.e.r wakes up. He said " I felt  you were obviously "in a state". I said shoot them...he said quietly, you are dreaming. I am now starting to unwind from that dream...

We really do feel very comfortable and safe here. If we needed anyone we could just go down the hill and ask anyone for assistance and they would come. Manuela, the young lady who cares for this place and arranged our booking, has made sure all of our needs are met. We are content and very fortunate. We do not have to worry about anything.
Needless to say it was a quiet day. We found a larger grocery store in Cascais. Cascais is a holiday resort area and has been, for well over a century. This will be one of our day trips. Today I think it is a good time to show you the gardens, in a month they will change....the birth of the "Lions Garden", it is so beautiful right now, I can just imagine it later....

Clearly you didn't have enough wine before you went to sleep. And who says " in a state " anymore. I had nightmares too but it was about being stuck in a polar vortex with no end in sight. Wish I was there - looks beautiful. xoxo

It's beautiful. You were lucky to find this place. Keep sending the photos and the great 'dear diary' stuff. You don't have jet lag. You are exhausted from your nightmare!
