We are on our way home, and like a horse heading to the barn, I can not wait to get there. Once we lock the door behind us, and place our suitcases in the car, we just want to snap our fingers and arrive.

Our journey travelling to Spain was, as I previously mentioned, quite the event. Approaching the airport in Malaga, Tony and I were sure we would be experiencing the same sort of scenario. Kate and Chris had an earlier flight 4:50 p.m. with a routing to Brussels, Frankfurt, Toronto then home. One long wait in Brussels. After Brussels their connections were good, they will be beat when they arrive in North Bay at 5:00 p.m., Saturday. We too arrive home on Saturday in North Bay but at 8:00.

We had a different arrangement. We were not leaving Malaga until 11:30 p.m. Not letting us check our bags in until two hours before our flight, we sent Chris and Kate on their way to carry on through their journey. Even though I would see them the next day, I am not good at goodbyes!

We had a long wait ....... We were not leaving for eight and a half hours! We were in an airport that does not encourage lingering. With very few benches, one Starbucks and a Farmacia we found a seat and in front of us, there it was, the Info Board; there was an earlier flight at 8:00, could we possibly get on it? That would mean waiting until only 6:00 to check our bags! Time moved slowly but we were successful! Going through customs we were then able to relax in the lounge very comfortably, I had wine and Tony had Sherry along with some nice snacks. Sure beats the Pepsi, Fanta orange and potato chips we had while waiting.

Our next conundrum was our arrival at Gatwick, then our transfer to Heathrow at 11:30 p.m and a wait until our flight left Heathrow for Toronto 13 hours later! On the bus I mentioned that we should have arranged a hotel, we hoped there would be one at our terminal! At Gatwick we got tickets for the bus, after us, the kiosk closed. We had 15 minutes to proceed to the bus. No problem, it was cold and windy, experiencing what we are told may be at home. Seeing London at night once again, we could at least see where we were going this time - We are at the front of the bus! We neared Terminal 5 and YES there was a hotel. We scurried through the very still silent airport, the wheels on our bags echoing hauntingly - there it is.... and yes there was room at the inn. I cannot remember going to sleep, I cannot remember turning a light off, I did remember where I was though when I woke!

As I write this we have been travelling for 24 hours, it is 10:51 a.m. your time. 3:51 p.m. London time, I am changing my watch. We are in the air and half way to Toronto! Talk soon,

Take care,
