Interesting....the day before you leave! If Tony and I were alone, I would have had us packed, signed, sealed, delivered and waiting and ready...but we are with Kate and Chris so we made a trip to Mijas ...a short road trip, about 20 minutes in the rain! It is raining miserably today! What started as a bright morning, there has been quite the turnaround!

Mijas was important to visit, we showed Kate and Chris the donkeys and the rock climbing walls which were viewed from above. The weather was not conducive to climbing today. Climbers come from all over to climb the cliffs at Mijas.

Since we arrived we can not believe the change in the orchards and the gardens. The figs are budding, three trees, three varieties, white, purple and black. The apricots will start to turn colour, new oranges are blossoming. We tried to keep up with avocados and grapefruit but there are many still here for the next visitors, along with limes, lemons, and oranges. The pomegranate tree is starting to blossom, the peach and plum trees have dropped their blossoms. The aroma in the air is incredibly sweet. Roses are budding and will spill open in the next week. The apple trees, two, one red and one green, are going to be awesome in the fall.. Those I know I can get at home!

We had our last dinner at home, a bit of a clean up. Tony and Chris barbequed a great rack of lamb, we baked potatoes, had a great salad of tomato, avocado, and mild, glorious Spanish onion. We sliced cucumbers, stir fired some mushrooms and finished the broad beans, yummy. Cards completed the night! Kate and Chris were the winners, Kate was on the money!

I know some of you are on your way home. I hope you had a great holiday and I wish you safe journeys. Others I know are thinking and beginning to prepare for your vacations. I wish you also safe journeys, lots of sunshine, great food and wine, and memorable adventures with your friends.

Time for me to say goodnight, a big day tomorrow! Take care,
