I arrived in Edinburgh after a whole night in airports. I wait a while for my Mom and Stephanie to arrive from Amsterdam. We get our car situation figured out and we hop in our right handed drive car (opposite side of road) and venture to St. Andrews for the day. We spend the day seeing the fort of St. Andrews, listen to bagpipes, and see the very end of the Masters getting wrapped up. The Masters (Tiger won!) had finished a few days before but everything was still kinda going on. We were able to check out Old Course and see where golf history started. It was an amazing city and an amazing gold course. We spent the evening driving country roads and viewing the wonderful countryside of Scotland. We find a quaint little bed and breakfast to spend the night. We have some hot tea and a few beers and call it a night.
The next few days we tour the highlands of Scotland, take a wonderful steam boat cruise on one of the lakes, and spend the night in some amazing bed and breakfasts. We get to see the battle grounds where William Wallace (made famous by Braveheart) fought battles, where the movies were filmed, and his monument upon the hills. We make our way down through northern England and in the Lake district and over to Wales where we catch a ferry over to Dublin Ireland. I was amazed by Scotland, a favorite so far!
