The next day I spent touring Venice with my own personal tour guide. In one day I was able to see it all. We then went out that night with all her roommates and friends and experienced the local´s scene. It was different since they were all speaking other languages than English, but it made it unique.
I decided to head up to northern Italy to this wonderful lake made in the base of the Alps. It is called Lago de Garda. Along the way I stopped in Verona (city of Romeo and Juliet) and checked out the city and I also took back roads and saw tons of other small towns. I arrived at this large lake that evening and was tired enough I crashed at the first campsite I came to. I spent the evening going down to the shore and people watching all evening. I was able to see a wonderful sunset over the water and mountains. The small towns along the lake are all connected by a big walk way so you can walk wherever you like. I drove to the north part the next day, along all the beaches, thousands of sunbathers, and millions of motorcycles parked everywhere to get the the gondola that takes three off and on agains to make it to the top of the mountain overlooking the lake and alps. I spent the whole day laying on top of the mountain absorb the magnificent view and weather. They have trails going all over this mountain so I put on my MP3 player and started walking, not stopping until about 6 that night. It was so fun and relaxing. I spent the evening listening to some local band and also walking around the expensive area where every car was practically a BMW or better with German plates.
I left the next day for Monacco-Nice-Cannes, Italy. I´ll get to those few days in the next log.
