A semester of a LIFE TIME!!
Entry 4 of 9 | show all | print this entry |
Well, I had planned on trying to remember all the things we did, places we went, and people we met..but I have not been able to find the time with college graduation and my Round the World travels a few weeks away. So I'll give a little cap of what my life was like in Australia those 5 months. We surfed on the beaches where world champion surfers live, we traveled the East coast of Australia from the North tip down to Melbourne. We hiked the forests of the NE corner, lived on a dive boat on the Great Barrier Reef for three days and scuba dived with the most unbelievable plants and creatures you can imagine, drove 4x4 vehicles around Frazier Island (the world largest sand island), sight saw Sydney and Melbourne, drove the Great Ocean Road (a 150 mile road that follows the curves and bends of the ocean, allowing for some of the most scenic views imaginable), went kangaroo hunting in the outback with my roommate, and met people from all over the world during this time. The trip to Byron Bay, the hippy village of Australia, to see Jack Johnson and Ben Harper play to the small scuba dive trips we made, even the smaller trips/events were amazing. The land down under is truly a magnificent place. It's disappointing I didn't have this site during my travels but I think everyone gets the picture of how unbelievable my Australia Study Abroad truly was.
