Buenos Tardes.
Glad to be in a Spanish (although technically Castellano) speaking country, as will be the case until we depart Mexico. I am expecting great things, and Emily promises to be a good teacher. I am already reciting my verb conjugations.
So after all the rain the other day, we had a Foz Leaving Party, which involved a lot of Tucan made punch (sorry I canīt find a key to hyphenate words!). Never again. Suffice it to say that taking down a tent and a 6 hour bus journey do not go well with a fragile stomach.
Moved to Asuncion, which is quite small and underdeveloped for a capital city. But is has a certain something, much nicer than Rio. Did a walking tour of the main sites, which took less than an hour, so it was obviously time to stop for lunch. Somehow I managed to get 6 scoops of ice cream for 1p!!! Last night we went to a fantastic buffet - (ah the hyphen!) with an excellent vegetarian selection. Tonight who knows.
We are having to cover up as there is currently a Dengue Fever epidemic in the city...nice. Although a 750 mg dose of paracetamol will cure you, the first time at least!
We move to Trinidad tomorrow, to see some historic Jesuit Missions. And then a long drive to Buenos Aires and another hotel stop. Hurrah.
Eeek ' one minute left.
Gotta go.
