Hey all,

Arrived in Brazil safely after a tiring 1.5 hours to get through Passport Control, not to mention the preceding 14 hour flight!

Amusing encounter with crazy taxi drivers, got conned into giving a tip for one acting as a porter.  After the event I realised I probably caused offence by giving him the equivalent of 20p!

Copacabana Sol was better than expected.  Good clean rooms, fab breakfast and great showers.  I'm sure we'll miss it when we´re free camping in Chile.

Just been to the beach - 28 C, all good, although rain forecast for tomorrow.

Carnival on Saturday, so will hopefully have some photos to post then.

Good start! you made it past passport control! Chinese New Year is on Sunday 18 Feb see how it's celebrated in brazil.

Congratulations on your arrival. Incredibly jealous of the temperature, have just spent 4 hours doing an opinion writing exam on CPR Part 36 offers - ick... and now it's raining. Enjoy the carnival!!
