Its funny to title this "home" but it really felt as if we were coming home... i was feeling very connected to the gambia and really like i was heading to my own home.
Jori's words:
The next day we finished off the last five hours of the trip heading back home to Serekunda. We stopped at a famous wood-carver's market in Brikama, where Justin picked up some nice keep-sake's and walked back into "Happy Camp" right around 5 p.m. It felt great to be home... even Justin said that it felt like he was going home! The only real word that I can find to describe the trip is "adventure". We had so many set-backs along the way, but it was one of the best trips of my life and I wouldn't give it up for anything. Would I do it again? Probably not. BUT, I'm still really proud to be able to say that I traveled through the entire Gambia (seeing literally every village along the way) and back... all using local transport. It was not an easy task, but it was an amazing experience.
WOULD I DO IT AGAIN?????
honestly, in a heart beat. <3 to be able to travel and experience those hard times and amazing times with someone you love is one of the great gifts someone can ask for. I miss them already(btw, writing this in prague, alittle backed up with the posting)
