the flight was terrible... imagine a southwest plane colored in "first choice airlines". This plane has to be from the 80s. I was sat right next to the bathroom and i couldnt put my seat back. 5minutes into the flight and for the whole duration the wonderful man in front of me placed his seat so far back he could also read "guns germs and steal"(which is the best book ive picked up in my life. No food, no water, nothing... everything costed money. But my packaged lunches and snacks were well enjoyed. Somehow 6hours flew by and next thing i knew i was circling for 45minutes above what looked like a run way(thank you dad for the story about the landing gear because i was preping for skidding across a field). Landed and got through "passport and customs"(umm a booth...) and guess who was waiting for the other side for me. yuppppp.... that would be jori sapper. there was about 300people at the airport for a flight of only 120or so... everyone was trying to advertise and sell some kind of hotel or taxi service. Jori and i ran through and next thing i knew i was in their friend Benz driving through the countryside(learned in was the edge of banjul). Within 15minutes we were at the compound and getting a tour of it. Pictures are going to be the best way to describe it. Im so happy to be here, getting to know the area and seeing this totally new world. Ill find more time to catch you guys up on the compound, the surrounding area, the people from jori's program, jori herself(she's looking better than ever and looks like she is having the time of her life) and various other funs things im sure you all want to hear about.
For now, were getting ready for the beach...and were planning the next two weeks here. Ill be sure to post some good info once we figure out the details. Love you all... finally back in camera mode, snapping away, so you'll all get some fun photos... great, im sitting here inthe computer room and jori is talking to her flat mate about traveling south... very south.. tell you more later.
