After, on our own, we walked up to a huge fortress/castle overlooking Bratislava and all the amazing bridges it has. It was later in the evening and the sun was setting, so quite the view!
The next day we decided to get a little adventerous and rent bikes to ride to the nearby town of Devin, which has a castle with some parts that are over 1100 years old. But of course Mr. Napoleon had to blow most of it up, so some of it was in ruins. It was still amazing with a lot of the structure built right into the rock cliff. That was when our day took a bit of a bump. We planned to continue to ride to other towns in both Slovakia and Austria but the only bridge from Slovakia into Austria in our direction was under construction. We only found this out when we got there, 15km away from our starting point. I also found out another unfortunate thing, that Jessica and long bike rides don't go well together (especially in 38 degree weather and when we are trying to find out where to go). So we didn't get to see all the towns we wanted to but we still got to see Devin. We made it back in one piece, but had to take a bus with our bikes for the last part of the ride home. Now onto Salzburg.
Whatever, Ryan...the bike seat was really, really hard!!! :(
