I witnessed one of the most colorful, incredible sunsets of my life at what is rated one of the top ten beaches in the world. As I looked up and down the beach, there was absolutely no one on the 6 km of beach to my left and only the tiny outline of two German girls who were camped with us at the very end of beach to my right, about a kilometer away. Just incredible.
We shared the camp with the Germans, Lena and Katrina, an incredibly friendly and awesome Brazilian couple, Flavia and Johnny, two Aussie paddlers, Leo and Scott, and a Chinese couple. So far I would rate this as the absolute best thing we have done in Australia. Did some snorkeling at the end of the beach, again having the entire area to ourselves as we snorkeled. Did some reading (currently reading Che's Motorcycle Diaries). Did some napping. Ate a lot of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and koala caramels. Woke up in the morning to a small thunderstorm, but it didn't dampen our spirits at all.
