After two long days of driving and being disappointed by the crowds and development in Byron Bay and Surfers Paradise, we headed to Rainbow Beach in hopes of touring Fraser Island. 

Rainbow Beach delivered: small town, quiet, relaxed, and beautiful.  And the cyclone that wreaked havoc yesterday has passed, meaning the weather is also incredible today.  Lounging and walking today, sea kayaking tomorrow, and a tour of Fraser Island on Monday.
