Day 7
Without any planning we ended up hiking one of the two best hikes of the trip.
We left from our campground, White River,
hiked up to Sunrise,
hiked from Sunrise to the Burroughs,
then descended from the Burroughs to Great Basin
and back to the White River Campground.
Along the way the hike treated us to endless wildflowers and majestic views of the glacial basin and Mt. Rainier.
We saw only 3 people outside the basin trail.
After the hike we drove up to Kirkland and visited with Amy, Eric and their two adorable kids, Zoe and Zach.
We had never met Zach and I hadn't seen Eric since Zoe was born.
We thoroughly enjoyed catching up with them.
Even with both having full time jobs and having two kids under two years old, Eric and Amy were fantastic hosts.
