Hello friends and family,

So, last we left off that Ryan and I took a four hour train to Prague which was a fun experience.  Eastern Europe has a much different feel than Sweden or Holland and Ryan and I are beginning to like it.  I say beginning because when we got of the train we had no Czech money, so we couldnt catch a subway to the city and when we went to an ATM we took out money but it was in a large denomonation and no one wanted to break it for us so we could buy a subway ticket.  After trying to find anyone that spoke english, and seeing a guy shoot up drugs right in the train station, YIKES, we payed a few bucks at a currency exchange we had our subway tickets and were on our way to the downtown area.  we found a great hostel after an hour of trying to figure out where we were and what we were doing and it was great to have a place to call home afterŽour few interesting experiences in the train station.  Then things started looking up.  The person working the hostel made a great reccommendation for dinner for that night, which was an authentic Czech restuarant.  Beers were 34 czech kron, which is roughly and a dollar and half US dollars, and they werent small.  We had a beautiful server who kept the beer coming and the food was delicious, although we stuck to things we knew...pasta and such. After dinner we stopped in a bar called the Beer factory, where people can pour their own beer and it is kept track of on a big scoreboard at the bar....harder to explain than it really is.  We made it an early night because we wanted to see a lot of sights the next day, which we did.  Yesterday we probably walked 5 miles around the city and went to some museums, the Charles bridge, St. Nicholas church, the Prague castle, and then some.  Like berlin, seeing all of this in person was amazing.  Sorry I have to cut this short, but running out of internet time and we need to go see some more of the city. The next update will fill everyone in on Prague nightlife and where the next stop on our trip may be.  Talk to you guys soon,

R and J

And we are back,

Well Prague nightlife IS everything it is cracked up to be.  Lots of different type of pubs and clubs with all sorts of travelers and local people mingling.  The first night we ran into some American girls that were from the east coast and they were happy to show us their favorite spot.  After dancing till we were sweating and maybe a few kisses it was already 430 in the morning and we were getting hungry so it was time for our first stop at a Mcdonalds.  The food was just like the states but I was able to order a beer, with my meal, a Pilsner Urquell.  The next day we went and saw the old Jewish town in Prague which, like Berlin, was much more striking in Person.  We went to a Jewish temple where there were over 80,000 names of people that had be killed when the Nazis invaded written on the walls, and a cemetary smaller than a basketball court where over 12,000 people were burried.  We grabbed a quick bite for dinner and some more dollar beers and then it was back to the clubs to meet some more beautiful Czech women....which we did hahaha.  We have one more night here and then it is on to Budapest for a day or two.  We got lost when we first got to Prague and we here Budapest is going to be even harder to find our way around.  So maybe this is where it really gets interesting.  From Prague, with love,

R and J

Well, it is our last daz in Prague and we have lucked out on the weather. it has been sunny with very little rain, whereas a month ago it was snowing here. Believe it or not, we met some more american girls today at a cafe that gave us some travel tips for our next destination which is Budapest.  We decided we would try the night train one more time, so tonight should be interesting.  This is just a quick update bc internet is pretty expensive here, but you guzs get the idea.  Hope all is well and I hope i can update from Budapest....we will see.

Turning point in Chicago
Cubs swept Pirates, took first two games in extra innings. Almost hit 70 last weekend, everyone was out and about. I was in San Fran all week, caught a Giants/Padres game and Giants won with walk off hr in 11th (although I hate the giants and the padres due to interleague issues it was fun. Jane and I are all moved in. Your parents and grandma spent a fun day with us last saturday and helped us organize. We are heading to ABT this weekend for some TV horsepower! Giddyup!
