Full Irish breakfast all 'round although none of us ate it all.

We walked around Cahir Castle and took a bunch of photos, then did some preliminary souvenir shopping across the street from the castle.

The Vee Drive between Cahir and Lismore is spectacular and we took even more photos. The rhododendrons were in bloom and the hillsides were quite purple.

We hung a right in Lismore and headed for Mallow....big mistake....Mallow hates me....I have driven through Mallow three times and gotten horribly lost each time. When you begin to recognize the pebbles beside the road you know you are driving in a circle. All we wanted to do was to get to Kinsale and avoid Cork City in the process. Finally we just gave it over to TomTom and hey presto! there we were in Kinsale even though we had to drive on the Cork City ring road in the process.

We had wanted a tour of Kinsale Crystal but the owner was having plumbing problems and had gone to Cork City in search of a part so his wife told us a bit about the crystal and of course sold Granny a lovely deep-cut shamrock.

Outside of Bandon is Stable Door Pottery where we were hoping to watch some "potting" but of course we were so late in the day the new owner was just about to close up to go have dinner with her brother. We purchased a few small pieces and were all on our way.

Our friend Anchoress had found our B&B for us and if she ever recommends one, take her advice. Dromcloc House is absolutely wonderful. Now it isn't the most modern and up-to-date, but the host and hostess (and their daughter and grandson who helped with breakfasts) are warm and welcoming, and the rooms adequate size (we had two twins) as are the en suites. D and Granny had the room on the end with a view of Bantry Bay and Whiddy Island. (More stairs for Granny's knees to complain about but that's no one's fault but hers).

We had dinner at The Snug on the Quay in Bantry. All good and we shared gooey chocolate cake and ice cream.

Apparently we ate lunch somewhere but it wasn't memorable enough to make it into Granny's journal.

After dinner, back at Dromcloc House we strolled down to the bay; the girls got closer to the water than the olders but it was a lovely evening and we were ready for bed at the end of a long day.
