When I arrive in Paris it is a little warmer than it was in Holland and the sun is out.
Up to now it is still not clear if I should pick up my suitcase from Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG) and take it to Paris Orly or not. I also have not got my boarding pass for the flight to Réunion for some strange reason.

I can say I have traveled a bit so asked questions, but clear and constructive answers were hard to find. Also getting from CDG to Orly apparently there is a bus and you would think that since you are using the same airline from Amsterdam to CDG as you are using from Orly to Réunion they would provide you with some information, but that was not the case at all.
So I am not sure if I should wait for my suitcase and I am not sure how to get from CDG to Orly.

After consulting several people and looking at my luggage tag I decide my suitcase should be tagged through to Réunion and decide to find my way to Paris Orly.
Since I flew in with KLM Air France and also using them from Orly I am entitled to a coupon to use the shuttle from CDG to Orly. Not that anybody tells you to help you save € 18,-.
But fortunately I find out myself and instead of paying for the buss I manage to get the voucher.

It is a long wait till the buss arrives and we head towards Orly Airport. It's Friday afternoon and traffic is absolutely crazy. It doesn't take me long to realize that there is a good chance of me spending the night in Paris, since I have not got my boarding pass yet and I wonder if this is the reason I don't have a boarding pass.
We arrive at Orly 45 minutes before departure time, which usually means you get bumped of the flight because you are too late to check in. After trying to checkin on one of the machines where I get an error a kind man suggest I go to the back of the queue. I told him that is not an option as I am already too late. So I decided to go to the business class check in.
The lady tells me I am too late for check in but she calls with the gate to see if she is allowed to still put me on the flight. The conversation is in French so I have no idea about the outcome until she tells me. Guess it would have been a good idea to pay better attention at my French class in school but it too late for that now.
The lady comes back to me and says I can get on the flight, but then the conversation turns to my luggage which I don't have. I show her my luggage tag which says RUN (Réunion) she says this is a problem all the time. I should have picked my bag up in CDG to check in again at Orly. Apparently this is a known problem and still they don't manage to give passengers the right information... Also I cannot claim my missing luggage at Orly, I have to do that at my final destination... Strange when at this point of time we know there is a problem and we also what needs to be done to solve the problem.

The good news is I am on my way to Réunion and I have decided to contact KLM/Air France on my return home and offer them my services as how to improve their service by giving passengers the right information because that sure was lacking big time on this trip!! Positive side of things... I don't need to be out of work in a hurry if big professional companies like KLM/Air France still can't manage to get their communication right.
