I arrived in Riga after a bit of a nervous departure of Moscow...

My ticket had been booked with Baltic Air but the flight was being operated by Aeroflot and when I went to check in the lady at the desk couldn't find my name anywhere on her system... I thought it would be the start of another trifector of antiluck but after some frigging about she found the necessary screen to print me a boarding pass.  Phew.

The flight itself was good - with even some food being served, a nice bonus seeing as I booked through a budget airline and that I had only slept for eight hours in the last two days!

My arrival at Riga was a bit weird.  We got off the plane and onto a bus which dropped us in a terminal.  All passengers had their gear x-rayed and then proceeded into a boarding gate room... for me it was the wrong one though.  I traipsed around for a while until I met a nice security guard who told me I had to ring a bus to take me to Terminal A.

Upon doing this a giant bus arrived to take me (and this other disheveled young bloke) to our departure lounge - a barren place where the lights hadn't even been turned on yet.  We both lay down on some seats to catch some sleep.

I woke up to see some old people smiling at me on the seats opposite.  I waved good morning and smiled and noticed that the place was now quite busy... I closed my eyes again.  Ten minutes later I woke up as some Latvian arsehole was manhandling my head, trying to push me away so he could sit closer to the gate.  No, "excuse me," or even a tap on the shoulder, just grab my head and push!  I'm not a piece of rubbish you cock!  I sat up, glared at him and was ready for a fight... arrogant punk.  He really pissed me off!  He pulled out his phone and walked away and I made some not so quiet remarks under my breath... and then preceded to be exceedingly nice to other people who came and politely asked if they could sit next to me.

It's funny how the people you meet can skew your view of a place... I hate Riga because of this man.
