Good ole' bangkok, the city of sin, my introduction to se asia just 5 months ago. I had a day layover in this overcrowded, dirty city while heading down to the southern Thai islands. Decided to stay in the backpacker area this time on Khao San road - packed with sweaty tourist, dingy hostels and rowdy bars. Actually didn't get to this part of the city last time, so it was good to cruz the local streets of the banglaphu district. Also met up with my friend Bill for lunch, always nice to see a friendly face in chaotic cities in far off countries. Ended my short stay with another 2 hour massage, which turned out to be more painful than pleasant. I couldn't believe it, for the first time in my life I had to tell the masseuse NOT to press so hard. I've never done that! But this woman had HULK hands, not that enjoyable. But hey, the place was air-conditioned and gave me a chance to get out of the smoggy air.
About to board the my second overnight bus in 2 days, ugh. All I want is a hammock and quiet bungalow on the beach!
