We had a beautiful morning in Ljubljana, we got up early and I ran up to the outdoor market to get some fresh bread, ham, strawberries, apricots, etc. for our stay in Bad Gastein, Austria. We got to the train station with plenty of time to spare and had a nice train ride up to Bad Gastein. As we crossed through the last tunnel, which was actually 7 minutes, maybe you remember us thinking that it was close to 15 minutes on the ride down - well we left the sunshine back in Slovenia and had cloudy skies and light drizzle. Sharon and Christoph were waiting for us and helped us get our bags down to our hotel which was down a very, very steep road. We could see that we were in for some good exercise in these two days getting around the village - and what a charming village it is. Sharon and Christoph had already stocked the fridge and we added our purchases from the market. Then...Sharon, who knows Jim and his Fox News almost better than anyone said "Look Jim, is that Fox News?!" He was so excited - but actually she had just recorded 7 hours of his news shows and the Republican debate for him and brought it along. What a nice surprise for him - and on a rainy day it was perfect. It didn't take long for Jim to get comfortable on the couch - Christoph had work to do and Sharon and I went off for a walk - and then a nice coffee with a piece of Tiramisu to share. We went to a nice typical Austrian restaurant for dinner and had a great meal - as you will see. Our 'apartment' was very nice, we had two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, two balconies with views to the snow capped mountains - a good sized kitchen and living room - with a Murphy bed - which we had to close "Funny" Christoph up in after a night of drinking too much beer and sekt (sparkling wine).
