Guten Morgen

We are here in Munich now.  We arrived two days ago - had a nice flight - clear weather across the Mediterranean and across Italy - into Austria and then right as we were crossing the border to Germany the clouds came and we had pretty strong winds on our landing in Munich.  It was raining when we arrived but they do need the rain desperately here in Europe so we didn't let it bother us.  Sharon was there waiting for us and escorted us back to their place on the train - the rain had stopped so that was good as we had to walk about 300 meters from the train station to their home.  They live in Lohhof which is where Microsoft has one of their European headquarters.  In between the Airport and downtown Munich - it is a great location.  It always feels great to be back here - they have such a nice home and we have been getting quite used to our visits with them a couple times a year Munich 00

.  Jim of course also likes Fox News on the big TV.  Ha!  We went to the Old Farmhouse for dinner, I forgot my camera, but we will go back again as it is one of our favorites.  Jim had White Asparagus soup and a dinner of even more White Asparagus and Veal.  He was so happy.  The White Asparagus - Spargel - is everywhere here - so we definitely picked the right time to come.  By that time it was getting pretty late and so we just went back to their place and relaxed.  Christoph is still working in this time so we can't party too much until the weekend!

Now to our first full day which was beautiful - we knew the good weather was coming as it was what we had just left.  Sharon checks the weather online and if the first site does not give her the good report then she looks for one that does.  Amazing how that works!  We relaxed in the morning and then headed downtown.  First stop was the Viktalienmarkt a little sauerkraut and sausage for Jim and a pretzel and weisswurst for me and Sharon.  Then we walked around shopping for our Bier Garten buffet.  Christoph met us at the English Garden at the Chinese Tower - where we always tend to go and we enjoyed a beautiful evening under the trees with about 3,000 of our good German friends.  This garden will seat and nourish approximately 7,000 people.  You really can't believe it.  The beer is always flowing - the chickens are always roasting - the huge pretzels are always fresh and the attitude is always positive.

Auf Wiedersehn!

Say Hi
I am assuming that your friends are the ones you visited when you left Venice on the last trip. They are definately taking you two to some great locations. There sure is a lot of beauty in this old world. The food looks great!!!! I may have to get a snack. Jim must be getting his Fox News fix and I need to know if he is fretting about Paris Hilton. Have fun.
