I have almost caught up on these travelpods - thank goodness.  My process for this, in case anyone is interested is as follows:  When Jim and I return for the night I immediately download the photos to their own folder on our laptop - or more accurately - through the laptop and onto a portable hard drive.  Then I format the photos that I want to include in the journal.  Next I write the daily happenings while it is still fresh in my mind - otherwise it just all blends together and I really get it all confused.  I use maps and books to help me with small facts and information along with anything I pick up along the way - I take a lot of photos of placards at different locations for my facts.  The problem I am having is that when I am formatting the photos I have been just putting them in numerical order to make it easier to download - but then I lose the exact description - so I do end up having to look back for some of it.  That is how it works so even though I may have to wait a few days before getting internet connection to download / upload - the work has already been completed Park Guell 01

**Frances - these photos today are especially for you!  You would have loved to visit this park and would have been inspired I think. Take a look!**  I think we might have some ideas for our Quintas!

Now for today!  We slept in this morning - even though it was beautiful out.  We have the great European roll down shutters and that blocks out all of the light - they are similar to hurricane shutter in Florida, etc. except they roll down instead of across.  I went to the market in the morning and got some breakfast for us - fresh fruit - yogurt - and Jim's favorite croissants - then we took our time getting ready until it was time for Siesta - 2 p.m - that is when we went to lunch - we need to get on schedule here.  We went to a restaurant right outside of our flat - we had a great meal - with a lot of locals - just what we were looking for.  Then we headed out to Park Guell. This was a vision by Count Eusebi de Guell and Antoni Gaudi was the one to carry it out - a 30 acre garden with the thought of having a 60 home private community within.  This didn't exactly fly though and all that they have now is an unfinished but still beautiful garden with a few homes.  The views are beautiful as one can see all of the city and the Mediterranean Sea.  There is no admission price to the park which makes it quite busy but once we started walking through the park the crowds thinned out a bit and it was quite nice.  It was a very hot day - but we enjoyed the shade in some areas as we did walk around the entire park - built on a hillside there is quite a nice hike involved.  The main area which happens to be mostly finished houses the Hall of  100 Columns with nice mosaic ceiling medallions and the famous dragon/lizard fountain.  We made our way to the benches above the 100 Columns - but there were soooo many people we really couldn't enjoy it too much.  We headed back to our flat and took our little "Siesta" before deciding to head out to dinner - but oops - it was 9 p.m. by that time and we didn't really feel like heading out - not to mention that is still a little early for the Spaniards - so instead I made us something to eat and we had a nice little candlelight 'snack' in our little dining room.

They are predicting rain for tomorrow - we will see if they are right - but tonight it is nice and clear with an almost full moon.
