. A very nice idea. Then entering the main room - the tables were set with candles and fresh flowers - there was a nice 'wedding cake' off to the side and a permanent slide show with photos showing the entire evening. Dinner was excellent and there was no shortage of drinks at the bar! There were about 130 guests and everyone had a great time. There was a live band and a lot of dancing! Bart and Hazels dance card was full the entire night. The next morning a group of us met for breakfast and then enjoyed another day at their home in Modesto - the next morning Bart made his famous secret recipe pancakes and Hazel made the wonderful ham, bacon and sausage that made Jim very, very happy. It was then time for us to leave - we flew back to Michigan and I had 4 days until I then returned to Costa Rica - Jim stayed to take care of some things - and now, we have a little over a week left in Costa Rica before we start our next journey. We head back to Michigan for about 10 days and then fly across 'the pond' to Lisbon, Portugal - the starting point for our next expedition! Stay tuned....
**Again - I am late with my last posting of our trip - that seems to happen lately. As we are getting ready for the next chapter - I need to close this last one out. The reason for this trip to California was to join in the celebration of Bart and Hazel Paul and their 50 years of marriage. We arrived at their home at noon and we met their good friend Gigi - and we all went to have a little lunch. We enjoyed the afternoon and then all headed over to the party location so that they would be the first ones there! Their son Mark and his girlfriend Sharon and their daughter Sherri and her husband Ken were the planners of the event and they did such a wonderful job with the arrangements. Upon entering there was a table that their grand-daughter Kristin and Sharon's daughter were greeting guests and having them sign the guestbook. The room was filled with floral arrangments that kept coming from friends around the country. They had some nice photo collages with a large matted and framed wedding photo that the guests could all sign
