I am glad to get out of El Chalten. The weather wasnt the best for camping and the price of food and internet was expensive. The bus from Chalten to Calafate left on time? the first bus I have taken in 9 months that has done that. The trip lasted only 3 hours with most of the road been sealed. El Calafate draws more tourism and it is easly noticed when you make it into town. There are numerous classy resturants and holtels and plenty of souvenir shops to help you lighten you wallet and they even have a bloody casino. The big attraction is the Glacier Perito Moreno, 80 Km out of town. The most important thing for me is the large supermarket selling food at a reasonable price. The camping ground is excellent, well the price any way. Its a little close to town which makes it noisy (last night I had to ask a couple of older tourists, nationality unknown staying in a camper to turn off their engine, after they had it running for 40 minutes at 11 PM at night) but I get my own table, BBQ, light and power for the same price as the places I have been staying previous without these things. One of the local stray dogs stole my thong last night so Ill be trying to hunt that down today. Ill be here for a day or two before heading to Puerto Natales in Chile.
