The arrival to Bariloche wasn´t the most smooth. On the way into town the bus we passed a accident scence where somone had been hit by a car. The body had been placed in a covered metal tray and placed on the back of a police ute....no ambulance?? There was still a nice mess left on the road for all the traffic to have a look at as they were aloud to drive around.
Any how, I found the camping ground I had planed to stay at without to much fuss. Its a little way out of town near a nice looking lake (Lago Gutierrez). There are plenty of bus´s comming and going to the area so access isnt a hassel. I had dinner last night on the edge of the lake watching the sun light disapear. It got real cold real quick so I had to retreat back to the camp ground for more clothing and a warm shower. The camping area isnt big, I feel a little squashed where I am. It is full mainly of Argentinian´s enjoying their holidays. There was a group of young teenages who made a bit of noise late last night, if I had of known a few expliced spanish words they would have been used, maybe it will be a good idea to learn a few.
Ive been walking around town today gathering info on some walks around the area and transport further south to El Chalten. The sun is out and there is a nice atmosphere here cuased by the surrounding lake and mountains which still have a little snow on their peaks. The morning is the best time of the day here as a breeze starts blowing late morning which is cold as is comes off the lake.
Did I mention the cheap beer! Wow! you can buy a litre for about $1.60 AUD! The bottle has to be bought with the beer but your money is returned when you return the bottle.
The town is also famous for its chocolate, it has plenty of shops selling the brown stuff and also ice cream.
