Everything was surreal once I stepped foot outside the Mannheim Hauptbahnhof. I was back in civilization for the first time in almost 9 long months. I took a couple minutes just to take it all in - the buildings, the strassenbahn, the doner stands!
I hailed a cab and then I finally got home after almost 30 hours of traveling. Finally Home!!! I was so tired, I forgot all about the beer. Instead it was time for a nice, long shower and a nap.
I woke up and felt weird. Things were not quite right. I mean I felt ok and then I looked at my watch and wondered. And then I saw my uniform. AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!! I just realized my life over the last nine months was not just a really bad nightmare. It was for real.
I did some laundry and called my friends. I had lunch with Chris and Billy, which was great because since I left Chris was free to roam and Billy got married and had an adorable baby boy. I'm so proud of those guys.
So we made plans to meet up later with some of the other guys and cause a ruckus.
Casey picked me up and we got my car out of storage. It was so nice to finally have my wheels again. Then we decided to go to Casey's house in Bensheim.
