The next day we help the family with the maintainance of their big garden. Seems fair since they're letting me stay for free. And a bit of hard work is a welcome change. We are rewarded with a very nice lunch.
After out work we visit the most easterly point of Australia. It's a walk along Byron bay and the beaches on each side
. Suddenly we spot some dolphins very close to the shore! We run into the water to get as close as we can. But they're to fast. A guy offers us his kayak so we can chase them. Before we know it we're pretty far from the shore but the dolphins are there! They're hunting and some of them swim under our kayak! This was a nice adventure! In the evening we have a nice family dinner prepared for us. We open the bottle of wine we brought and make a toast to the nice times we're having. The next day it's time to spend the weekend in the centre of Byron. In my hostel I meet a German guy and I ask him to join me and Alex for some drinks. Since the schoolies are still arround, the police are everywhere so we have to find a spot to drink where they can't see us. Feels like I'm 16 years old. Anyways, we finish our pre drinks and go to Cocomangos to enjoy some music. Holland, Germany and France made a good combination tonight!
Alex and I decide to take a small raodtrip together to Byron Bay. He has an uncle that lives in the hills of Byron and I am welcome to stay for a couple of days. We make several stops to visit some beaches. When we arrive at his uncles house I am pretty amazed. He and his wife live in a big mansion he build himself. It has several bathrooms and bedrooms. The garden is huge and a swimmingpool is included. That's really nice for a change instead of all the dorms I've been sleeping in. This is a serious upgrade :D Alex's aunt welcomes us together with the guard dog: Boo, a 9 years old puppy.
