Gabby did everyone proud by hosting a lovely party. As the chimes of Big Ben faded away we went into the garden to release some Chinese Lanterns. They took AGES to light! ( hence we only did three in the end). Once, lit, however, they were a great sight - there was a slight breeze which took them quickly in the direction of Frome. And we weren't the only ones with the lantern idea - suddenly more floated into view from behind us - it was a beautiful sight, with a clear night sky, and a hazy, almost full moon.

This morning is VERY cold with the lightest dusting of snow, and absolutely beautiful. Liz and I walked through the fields from the village up to the bridge over the Frome by the A36, then back along the river bank to The Mill. Hardly anyone about, and very pretty.

Later we headed into Bath to watch "Sherlock Holmes" with Olivia in tow....really enjoyed the film. Hardly what you expect from a SH film, but all the better for that. Some of the best bits were the computer-generated images of London scenes from the 19th century (in particular those with Tower Bridge under construction). Loads of action, and plenty of tension.
