Wow! Was really windy last night . . . makes for a sleep deprived night!
Up and at 'em, all hands on deck this am . . . Dale arrived with his 4 legged furry friends Tasha and Gracie to pick up Jim and our 4 legged furry friend, Rowdy! Took them all out for a run . . . Rowdy ran and ran and ran . . .
We have included a picture of Dale’s Turkey BBQ . . . only today it doesn’t have the foil on it!
Today we need to stay focused and get diesel and purified water!
Last year when Dale & Gail were here he had problems with his truck and needed new bearings in his alternator... he ran into a guy who had told him... I have a friend who can help... and Dale took his truck across town and found the place with help and the owner put in new bearings for a very reasonable amount of money.... So Dales friend runs around the mountains with a donkey and lives in a very interesting spot in Los Cholla. He has a camper like you used to see in the bed of a pickup.. one of those cab over campers.. his sits on the ground... I saw no power line, no water line, only a propane cylinder attached to the side of the camper.. as we drove by we saw him sitting on his porch (bottom step of the camper).... Dale needed to stop and say Hi.. He had given this man $5 last year for his efforts in helping him find someone to get his truck fixed.. As Dale walked up this year, his friend smiled and remembered Dale and they shook hands and chatted..
Connie & Gail stopped by a couple of clothing stores across the street from the Super Ley’s . . . Super Ley’s had purified water but wanted to exchange our container for their’s . . . they couldn’t just fill our container. An English speaking customer in Ley’s suggested that we try the OXXO store . . . We needed to chase down some purified water for drinking, the water service here in the park is suitable for all our needs but drinking… we brought our 5 gal container and found that the convenience stores like our 7-11's, here they’re called OXXO have purified water at a tap, you fill your container and pay.. 9 pesos, = 75 cents.
While at Ley’s Gail couldn’t find half and half . . . Connie was able to find the canned hominy and the canned green beans that she couldn’t find the day before! So off to the Bodega (WalMart) we went! Well, we’re Spanish speaking challenged . . . and they’re English speaking challenged . . . and we couldn’t find Half & Half! After about 3 different clerks they took us over to the evaporated milk aisle and showed us the powdered coffee creamer ‘Crema Café’
With that done we headed for La Cholla for lunch . . . but got side tracked again looking at housing and ‘a Castle’ in progress so came back home for a late lunch (3pm) and Margaritas. We had great entertainment for lunch helping and watching Jim & Dale pull out a stuck vehicle on the beach!. . . Sunset is around 5:30 pm and hasn’t disappointed us yet!
No particular agenda for tomorrow . . . we’ll see what tomorrow brings!
