A couple of days ago we talked about Birds of Prey seen here at Sandy Beach. . . also known as Raptors. Well, the bird has been identified as an Osprey . . . We actually see them everyday on the top of poles or in the trees . . .
Our day started out pretty normal . . . whatever 'normal’ is . . . Normal is a setting on the dryer! We walked the beach and Rowdy . . . No, it’s the other way around . . . Rowdy walked us on the beach!
Gail & Dale are here at our RV; we are planning a trip into town to get diesel, propane and check out the purified water. Dale’s driving his truck because he’s the one who needs diesel
We look up and see a huge plume of smoke in the sky . . . our plans have now changed to following the fire. We drove thru town, mostly on paved roads, then thru improved roads not always paved . . . No we didn’t really know where we were going sometimes leaving the paved roads to improved streets to dirt/sand roads then back onto paved roads! As we got closer we speculated that maybe the fire was a house fire . . . there was a lot of black smoke so maybe it was the dump and there were tires burning? We finally arrived to where we could actually see flames, The Red Dragon! It turned out to be a wild fire, mostly brush . . . There were several fire trucks and police vehicles. As we were leaving we saw one very interesting water truck and one ambulance. There were NO sirens!
There is an Urgent Care not too far from The Reef RV Park . . . just outside is parked an dune buggy that is used for an ambulance! The Urgent Care is part of "The Reef Resort", Condo's, homes, Apartments, RV Park, Restaurants, etc.. We can only assume that we're far enough out of town that the crews won't come out this far or for the convenience of the American's it was put in..
In search for diesel we stopped at the fisherman’s wharf to check on a fishing trip . . . We're talking about a 4 or 5 hour fishing trip... then got side tracked and looked at some of the housing close to the water.
The next thing on the agenda was to find a bathroom a bano now known as sanitation station (we followed the pictorial signage!) . . . at a gas station! With that now taken care of Dale backs up to a green pump to fuel to find out that this station doesn’t have diesel at all! Here red nozzles are regular gas, green nozzles are premium gas and black nozzles are diesel… So off we go . . . It is well past lunch time now, so we forego scouting for diesel and purified water. . . Another day, maybe Tomorrow! For today another beautiful sunset as viewed out our RV window! The only way it could be better would be to share it with you! Jim & Connie . . . & Rowdy too!
