Well it could be alot worse. I arrived in Bremen to find my bike won't
be here for another 2 weeks. Fortunately for me one of the guys I was
riding to the Isle of Man with had a spare Triumph (Speed Triple) for
me to ride to the TT. Compared to what I've ridden, this is a rocket
ship! The TT races last a full week and that's how long I stayed. The
place is just unbelievable. The racing is awesome, but then before and
after every race they open the course (37+ miles of narrow two lane
public roads) and let the public have a go. I made 6 or 7 laps over the
week and scared myself silly about a hundred times each lap. You have
to be on the limit or else you get run over by about a hundred other
bikes. I thought I was getting the hang of the course, and was over 100
MPH on the "Mountain Road" when I got passed by a couple of bikes doing
a good 60-70 MPH faster than me. You gotta keep one eye in the mirror
at all times. Then when the course is closed there are plenty of other
roads that are a bikers dream come true. I highly recommend everyone to
get to the isle of Man TT at least once in your life. I had some
pictures posted at www.changjiangunlimited.com.
Just look for the Isle of Man pics under "Whats New". I got to see
Giacomo Augostini at speed on an Agusta (I think) during the vintage
race. But now I'm back in bremen waiting another 2 days for my bike to
arrive so I can continue into Eastern Europe and the Baltics before
entering Russia.
