Trip End

Well, I'm counting down just 3 days until I leave for the trip. I have
to fly to the U.S. first for a couple days and then fly to germany
where I'll meet up with my bike (hopefully!). After 3 aborted attempts
to ocean freight it I now find myself having to air freight it to
Germany. I'll be at the Isle of Man from June 2nd until about the 6th
or 7th of June and then head eastward. I just got my Russian visa
yesterday (nothing like waiting 'till the last minute). I think I'm OK,
although the Russian Embassy supervisor called me into a private room at the last
minute after I got my visa to tell me this visa does not allow for me
to bring any kind of vehicle into Russia.
But reading alot of Russian tour web sites, I think I'll be OK. Plus
I'll be riding to a fairly remote border with Latvia and hopefully I'll
either have all the necessary documents to gain entry, or my speaking
ability will get me entry.
I'll be riding to Moscow and meet another motorcyclist who lives there
and then after a couple days in Moscow head east through Ufa, Tjumin,
Omsk, Novosibirsk and then into Mongolia.
I'll have internet access all along the way with my new fangled device called a Blackberry. Don't know about pictures though.
Regards, and rarin' to go
