We decided to take the scenic route from Thailand to Malaysia and travel via boat down the coast to Thailand with the border crossing along the way.  Fortunately this time...not so much sea sickness...just pangs of hunger...we thought we'd be stopping in places where we could get food but where ever we did stop, it was usually deserted and so we went without until we got to our luxury hotel..(a christmas must)..in Langkawi at 10pm. A long journey but realy scenic along the way and nice and breezy so can't complain to much!

When we did arrive, we thought they'd made a mistake with our room as it was massive - larger than the flat back home.   A huge balcony overlooking the sea and a massive bed, sofa area and a table to eat at!  Take a look at the pictures.  We knew it would be nice and were paying a bit more to have it but we didn't expect this much!  We even phoned reception to check they had put us in the right room...what plebs we are! We were a bit lost in the massive space, had got use to the backpacking way....

So after unpacking, we ordered room service!  Yummy!  It was brought to us by a golf buggy from the restaurant!

We spent the next few days relaxing at the beach or pool and enjoying the space of our new room.   We stayed here for a week and even hired a car one day to go out and about to explore the island.

Christmas day had us calling home and opening a few little gifts we'd smuggled into our bags along the way!  A very nice day!  On the 24th in the evening we had a meal by the poolside of the hotel...including dancing which one of us poor soles was inevitably dragged up to join in with!

Langkawi was the perfect place for Chrimbo, an ideal place to chill out, relax and do very little!
