We found some accommodation that wasn't full or charging a fortune...after trying a few places...and got out on the beach. We'd opted to stay rather unwisely (possibly, but a must!) on Haad Rin, the beach where the Full Moon Party is held...but hey..that's why we were there so it made sense at the time. We arrived three days vefore to ensure we got a room, this place gets a tad busy!
I'll let Jim talk about the Full Moon Party...but I will say...it was long...and I did stay up to see the sunrise at 7am!!
Well yes what can I say, the Full Moon Party rocked and was totally unbelievable!! A bloody great night out completly banging! We were both struggling a tad from the night before, yes we got on it, this place was one large party pretty much the few days running upto the Full Moon Party....
Fuelled with far too many Vodka and Red Bull Buckets along with Thai Whisky&Redbull buckets (deadly) we danced the ngiht away, large....(For those that don't know buckets are big in Koh Pha Ngan - drinks served literally in a small bucket with straws - i.e.a Quarter bottle of Thai Whisky/Can Sprite & Redbull & ice! Buckets vary in size - the large buckets served with a litre of spirts are an interesting if not lethal idea!)
I can only describe it as one massive club on the beach with several different sound systems, it rocked. Approx 5,000 - 10,000 people descended on the beach and danced the night away. Watching the sunrise (and dancing!) at 7am was superb - a defo must for any want to be night club moving forward! A cracking night, I crawled into bed at about 10am - there were still people going, even then, but numbers were dwindling to only the hardened few.....by early moring my face and arms were covered in Luminous body glow paint...not sure how that one happended but a top night, excellent, defo one to do again, and I highly recommend for anybody that hasn't done one yet - a must do in life!!!!! Mint, Lush, Bosh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The 'Moon' these days is a pretty good excuse to party most of the month on Kho Pha Ngan, now with Half Moon Parties, Black Moon Parties along with the Full Moon......stay there all month I wreckon!
