The last overnight bus trip, yeeaaah. The bus left Algerciras around 6:15 and went to Sevilla, the bus driver was the crabbiest man, screaming and shouting, of course nobody knew what the hell he was saying. So we got to Sevilla about 9:30, which looks like an absolutely wonderful town, too bad we couldn't look around, I will definitely go back there however. So our bus to Faro didn't leave until midnight. So at midnight all these buses come and yet nobody knows which one is going to Faro. Finally they decide to throw us on one, even though it is going somewhere else, but they will make a slight detour to drop us off. The hardest part about traveling is getting anywhere, Nightmare. So we finally make it to Faro at about 2:30 am and catch a taxi to our hotel.
Portugal is everything I expected, beautiful, and touristy, I absolutely love it
. The people are super friendly which is nice. So what is the first thing we do, go to the mall, had to do a little shopping, at least it was open on a sunday. Then we went to Sao Raphael Beach. There are beautiful cove beaches all along with great boulders and rocks. The surf was absolutely incredible, it just come crashing in. You go out into the water and it goes from 2 ft to about 8 ft in one step, then trying to get out, the sea keeps catching you and dragging you back out. So we had lunch at this nice cafe on the beach, incredible sangria. Went back to the hotel and decided to go to Albuferia to get dinner. Getting a cab, however, proved to be the most difficult thing. There are not enough cabs for all the tourists so you end up waiting for a hour everytime you want to go anywhere. Finally made it, Albuferia is crazy, bars everywhere, drinks with sparklers and packed with people. It was great. We ended up going to a Brazialian buffet for dinner, basically you get about 10 different kinds of meat, they come out with skewers about every 5 min and you get about every kind of meat you can imagine. Really good food, but way to much meat. We decided to go back to the hotel and went to the taxi stand and there is a huge line up. Had to wait over an hour. Oh well
Decided to have a relaxing day and lie out by the pool
. Then at about 430 we headed down to the marina to take a sailboat ride. It ended up just being the 2 of us and 1 other couple, perfect. The captain of our pirate ship, was a interesting french guy who had lived in glasgow, leeds and all over the place. So we sailed up the coast past beaches and famous coves and then Sara and I asked if we could go for a swim. So they anchored the boat and we jump off and swam for about 1/2 hour - awesome. The water is about 22-23 degrees soooo warm, it was nice to swim without the crazy surf. When we got back to the marina, we decided to stop for a drink and the captain decided to join us. We then walked to a wonderful Mexican restaurant to have dinner before heading back to the hotel.
We went to the big market in Albuferia this morning, very similar to a typical british one, so it wasn't that exciting. Then we had to catch our bus out to Lagos and Sagres
