The bus driver was seriously mental, as Tom put it - I think he has a personal best time he is trying to beat! It definitely felt like it.
The scenery is amazing, huge volcanic mountains covered in thick forest. The roads up, down and through these mountians are equally amazing, and I thought for the second time this trip I may die several times over!
We have come to San Pedro... coincidentally where one of Simonīs mates has set up house and shop (DīNoz), where I had a wicked breakfast and Iīm sitting now looking out over the lake while emailing. Very nice. Dean though has remained elusive...
The weather is pretty disappointing, I think we are having the hurricane rain, but it is a sweet town with loads of lounge-y cafes and bohemian bars so itīs not an awful place to hide from the rain
There are some volcanoes to climb which I would be keen to do (post rain) but apparently bandits rule the hills, so we may have to take a bodyguard. Funny old place this!
We finally found Dean, well his wife actually, and gonna catch up with him and Dean Jr tomorrow for a BBQ. The sun has finally come out so we can also get out on the lake, woohoo!
Had a great time hanging and chillin with Dean, Simon got in some pool volley and we saw their amazing new house. They lead a great life, I am seriously jealous. Jayden is seriously cute and has the biggest eyes in the world - pix soon.
Generally spent a lot of time doing nothing in San Pedro, lots of good food, cocktails, late nights, and chilling. It was grand. I can really see how people get stuck there.... but not for us! We only have 3 weeks - eek - so we are moving back to the coast, we`ve had word from our friends that the coast is clear - literally! so lets go!
