I was so bummed out to be so far away from where I want to be, and with the thought of no more Caribbean.
But now we are here and it`s a nice town, and we have English travel buddies and bumped into a Slovenian couple that we get along well with, so that`s a plus.
Also a plus is not paying American prices, and tips for everything.
And also a plus is that actually I actually wasn`t enjoying the Mexican resort towns at all, they are like Bali (I imagine).
So, a blessing in disguise, perhaps. We are looking at Guatamala now, and might still get to Honduras for some diving and snorkeling.
The hurricane hits tonight, I am so glad we are so far away, I wonder how it will affect here, even though I feel we are far it`s still a small worry with big rains and winds. Also worrying about Tina and Craig in Minnesota with floods there, and them going to Puerto Rico, with hurricane there, and Josh and Amy in Peru, with 500 dead in earthquakes, the whole world seems to be going nuts and we`re all stuck in the middle of it.
We went horseriding today, which was pretty cool, still we were giants on the little ponies.
Tomorrow to a nature reserve to go bird watching, it feels good to be making the most of where we are at least.

Well the hurricane has passed, and it was a load of hooha I reckon, I am even more annoyed at Dean than I was before, it seems like there are hardly any impacts at all! (Great news really!) Except that it seems to have hit the Sian Kaàn biosphere, one place I would really have liked to have gone in Mex and a couple of little cute towns in there too, and actually Belize sounds a bit damaged too. We have definitely escaped the worst, just some cloud and rain here, we went hiking today in a different biosphere reserve through cloud forest and saw some mint birds. I think we will substitute national parks for beaches and end up happy tigers.
So on through Guatemala to Honduras and beyond, perhaps, we go.
