Finally got through but LA goes for miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiles. Four hours in LA traffic and I thought we'd made a bad decision.
LA wins the competition of the fastest we have been offered drugs anywhere, there was little conversation with the very built young man who offered after we declined, but as he left he did say "welcome to the Matrix" which really made me laugh because this place is another planet.
We luckily got a hostel at 9pm on a Friday, phew, dfidn't fancy wandering the streets here.
Thoughts on the Western world after 5 months in South America.... it isn't nearly as clean as I thought it would be, there is as much poverty here as anywhere
We have seen transvestites, trasgender, people dancing on rollerskates, amazing tattoos, amazing hair dos, clothes, skater dudes, people begging for money with siigns that say "need money for drugs" "help a nigga out" man it has been a interesting day/night. A real awakening of the senses in every direction.
We are on the beach, it's like Baywatch beach.
Lifeguards are overzealous - pulling out people too deep, screaming at them to get in the flags!
Loads more backpackers here, have met more wicked Aussies and all the rest.
We played some hacky and were really good.
And played some volleyball whcih was great but man did my ass hurt for the next few days. Great to get sun and exercise and feel like LAers.
Anyway, we did nothing toursity and will have to do all that stuff next time!!!
