The fruit juices are amazing here, from random unidentified jungle fruits.
We have come here to be cleansed - there is no mud, only pure white sand, like home. There are no mozzies (well significantly less anyway). There are no bastard tour companies holding us to ransom! haha.
We knew this would be a good place when... we saw a giant anteater on the way and had a wicked taxi driver and knew everything was gonna be ok. He was as excited as us about the Anteater which was super. It was really cool coz it was one of the things we really wanted to see on the Pantanal trip and didnīt
We just chilled yesterday at the public baths, which are on one of the local amazing rivers. Hired snorkels, and chilled. The water is as clear as Frazer Island and reminds me of it a bit, but these are real rivers, and through famrland as well, it is amazing how well kept they are.
Today we went on an excursion to Rio De Prata, the crystal clear rivers here flow through farms, and they are cashing in! We floated down the river with snorkels and the water was extremely clear, the calcium carbonate makes everything precipitate out of the water leaving it sooper clear. And their are heaps of masive fish everywhere, the water was warm and it was a beautiful day. The floating was followed by a massive lunch, and hammock slowching for a couple of hours. We are feeling really relaxed after the awful Pantanal experience, we keep waiting for people to hold us hostage etc.
It~s great to be doing such outdoorsy natural activities. It really makes me happy again. No more cities for ages.
tonight we are accompaning our new Aussie friends to the east coast of Brazil, 6 hours on a bus tonight, then straight on another bus 43 hours(!) to Savador, then on a boat to an island. This will be the longest and most uneventful weekend in the world. So adios amigos, and we will talk to you when we get there I suppose, Monday?
