Itīs Autumn here, all the trees are changing and itīs a nice refreshing change from the heat of the north which I was getting a bit flustered from in the end, with no airconditioning and long bus rides. We have had to get our thermals out but weīre still cold, and itīs only 20 degrees!!
Great weather for drinking red wine though, and at a couple of dollars a bottle/50cents a mug I reckon we are well and truly off the wagon!

Santiago is a really nice city, itīs reminding us of an Australian city, wide streets, deciduous trees, department stores. I think we need some of this after the last few days we had in Peru where we were ripped off three times in one day (did I already complain about this, sorry!)

Gonna spend a few days here, then head to the coast where there are some world heritage listed hills which sound cool.

Santiago hasa reputation for being really polluted, to the degree of irritated eyes and respiratory systems. We didnīt think it was THAT bad until we saw a picture of the city and realised it is bordered by the Andes, they are huge, and tower over the city... and we hadnīt seen a glimpse of them! Today we went to the botanical gardens lookout, and we could see a faint outline of them, but a really good view of the level of smog in the city, itīs scary, and sad that they have lost the best view.
