I almost couldn't be bothered to write this entry because our tour was about a 3 out of 10. If you google Puummakale, a tourist attraction, you will probably find the most amazing photos of white calcium ponds filled with turquoise blue spring water cascading down a mountain side. Too good to be true!
The day we visited here (it was a 3 hour bus trip one way from our Selcuk accommodation) the local council had decided to do some repair work and had diverted the spring water somewhere else. So the calcium ponds were dry and we were PISSED OFF! Our tour guide didn't care as he was preoccupied with his mobile phone - his wife was due to have their first baby and he was ringing every hour to get an update. Sigh.
The buffet lunch was almost great, except I took a mouthful of broken glass with my salad and almost swallowed it. I spent the next few days wondering if my intestines might be ripping open.
