In the morning I went to Prospect Park for another run. Somehow it was just not working out. Too hot, dressed to warm, no energy and I had run too long. The uphill part in the last 8 minutes just killed everything.

Today I had set two goals for myself. Try to get myself a day in a hospital to experience the nursing field here and look up some touristic things to do. I found a few hospitals that I could call. I
tried, my calls got forwarded a lot, I wrote some notes down with them and send some emails. Basically I get the feeling that it's not going to work. If they do these follow days, it’s always when someone is related to a school or the hospitals have a connection. So I contacted some people in the Netherlands aswel to look if anyone knows where a connection is. Then maybe I can trick
myself into a hospital. I have to wait a few days and continue the search some other day. I also looked up some museums I want to visit. I want to know which museums has a suggested admission and which are stated admissions. There are also some days or times during the day that admission is free or reduced. It all helps me figure out when to do what and if a so-called New York Pass is a good thing or not. I’ll let you know whatever I find out. Tomorrow I’m going to
try to Museum of Modern Art for free, but it might be just too crowded. We’ll see.

After my research, I spend a few hours in the Fort Green park near my house again, because the weather was awesome! I made friends with a squirrel. He kept on coming back for cookies! And later that night I went to the couchsurf meetup. It’s transferred to Saint Taverns for the whole
month of May. It’s a little bit small for the crowd that comes in. Like a 100 people I think. But this bar serves buffet food (guess they want to keep the party there) but it’s actually really fun. Again some familiar faces and some new ones. I like the atmosphere there since everyone is so easy to talk to. After the party I went for hotdogs nearby with Elad and Ryan. Elad came to New York just 12 days ago, he met a girl on couchsurfing meeting that day and guess what, he changed his travel plan for two years and is looking for apartments now in New York because he’s totally in love. Haha! I thought it was funny. In the hot dog place a man in a horrible shirt (theme Saturday night fever) came in with horrible airplane goggles and a cart with had a boom blaster and a microphone on it, and he turns it up and just starts singing. It was actually really funny, so I made a movie of it to show you guys. It’s a little bit short. I just only see this happening in New York for some reason.
